Isabela was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and is currently based in Berlin. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Photography and develops authorial projects inspired by her personal life. As a filmmaker, she has gained experience in commercial, authorial, and documentary projects. Her technical versatility allows her to work across different languages, with highlights in her portfolio including international projects such as content in German and English for the United Nations (UNAOC/UNCCT) and Goethe-Institut Brazil.
Her authorial work emerges from the realm of affects, from which she constructs her visual narratives. Belonging, trauma, memory, transformation, vulnerability, and intimacy are among the recurring themes in her practice. Moving between digital and analog, she engages with experimental photography and alternative processes such as cyanotype. Personal inquiries, as well as reflections on behavioral patterns, are part of her creative process. By drawing on anthropology and sociology to understand these dynamics, she keeps her images open, inviting the viewer’s interpretation.
